Virus and Malware Removal

Malware can spread quietly through email, downloads and infected drives, disrupting your work and putting data at risk. We detect and remove viruses, worms, trojans and ransomware, then harden your systems and restore your defences to full strength.

Virus and Malware Removal

Clean the infection, then close the door it came through

An infected machine cannot be trusted simply because it behaves normally again. Malware routinely installs itself, hides from casual inspection, modifies browser settings, steals saved credentials and creates a permanent backdoor that survives the clean-up you just paid for.

Bismillah Computer & Technology removes viruses, worms, trojans, spyware, adware, cryptojackers and ransomware from laptops, desktops and servers. We identify what is present, remove it completely, verify the result, and then harden the device so the same infection is far less likely to succeed next time.

Signs Your Device May Be Infected

Early recognition saves time, money and, in ransomware cases, your data.

Sudden Slowness

The machine becomes slow for no apparent reason, fans run constantly, and ordinary applications stall or fail to respond.

Unwanted Pop-Ups & Redirects

Advertisements appear without a browser being open, search results redirect, and the homepage or search engine changes by itself.

Security Warnings

The operating system repeatedly reports malware, threats or a corrupted system, sometimes more than once after a clean-up.

Account Irregularities

Passwords stop working, mail is sent from the account without being sent, or colleagues and customers report suspicious messages.

Unknown Programs & Files

Programs appear that were never installed, files are renamed or encrypted, and antivirus definitions appear to be disabled.

Disabled Security Features

Antivirus, firewall or Windows Update cannot be turned back on, which is a strong indicator of deeper compromise.

Our Removal Process

A disciplined process, because partial clean-ups are how infections survive.

1

Diagnose

Full scan, process and start-up review, browser and extension inspection, and event log analysis to identify what is present.

2

Contain

The device is isolated from the network, connected accounts are secured, and passwords changed from a known clean machine.

3

Clean

Every detected item removed, persistence mechanisms deleted, scheduled tasks cleared and the system returned to a verified state.

4

Protect

Endpoint protection installed and configured, patches applied, startup items cleaned and staff coached on what to watch for.

Ransomware

Ransomware: Act Quickly, Do Not Negotiate Blindly

If files are encrypted or a ransom note is present, the first hours matter. Disconnecting the machine from the network stops the spread; powering it off preserves evidence and encrypted data; and paying guarantees nothing, since criminal groups routinely continue operating after payment.

We assess whether the data can be recovered from backups, whether shadow copies and offline copies survived, and whether the attacker still has access to the environment. Recovery is planned before any rebuild begins.

  • • Isolate immediately: Disconnect from network, Wi-Fi and shared drives to stop further encryption and lateral movement.
  • • Preserve evidence: Do not wipe or reformat; the state of the machine helps determine scope and whether the attack is contained.
  • • Assess backups: We verify which backup sets are clean, unaffected and restorable, and how much data they actually protect.
  • • Rebuild properly: Clean reinstallation of affected systems, credential resets across the estate, and removal of the entry point.
  • • Prevent recurrence: Endpoint protection, email filtering, patching and staff awareness so the same entry route is not available again.

Preventing The Next Infection

Almost every infection we attend could have been prevented by a small number of basic measures in place. These are the ones that make the biggest difference.

  • • Professional endpoint protection: Business-grade antivirus with real-time protection, behaviour monitoring and automatic definition updates on every device.
  • • Email filtering: Phishing, spam and attachment filtering, with external senders automatically marked to reduce successful credential theft.
  • • Patching: Operating system, browser and application updates applied promptly, since most successful exploitation uses a known, fixed vulnerability.
  • • Browsing habits: Browser updates kept current, extensions limited to what is genuinely needed, and downloads restricted to official sources.
  • • Account security: Multi-factor authentication on email and business applications so a stolen password is not enough on its own.
  • • Backups: Automatic, off-site backups with tested restores, so an infection or accident becomes a recovery rather than a crisis.

For organisations that want these measures managed rather than simply recommended, our managed IT services and endpoint security services cover monitoring, maintenance and ongoing protection.
